Obama on Apollo 11

Speaking to Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins and Buzz Aldrin in the Oval Office on July 20, 2009:

Obama says:

The country continues to draw inspiration from what you've done. I should note, just personally, I grew up in Hawaii, as many of you know, and I still recall sitting on my grandfather's shoulders when those capsules would land in the middle of the Pacific and they'd get brought back and we'd go out and we'd pretend like they could see us as we were waving at folks coming home. And I remember waving American flags and my grandfather telling me that the Apollo mission was an example of how Americans can do anything they put their minds to.

From Biography.com:

In 1967, the family moved to Jakarta, where Obama’s half-sister Maya Soetoro–Ng was born. Obama attended schools in Jakarta, where classes were taught in the Indonesian language.

Four years later when Barack (commonly known throughout his early years as "Barry") was ten, he returned to Hawaii to live with his maternal grandparents, Madelyn and Stanley Dunham, and later his mother (who died of ovarian cancer in 1995).

Barry Soetoro (Not Barack until college) lived in Indonesia from 1967 to when he was 10, so how could he have been in Hawaii in 1969 to see the Apollo 11 capsules return to earth? Obama was born on August 4, 1961. He turned 10 on August 4, 1971, so he moved (back?) to Hawaii in 1971 - a minimum of 2 years AFTER the Apollo 11 splashdown of July 24, 1969.

Since it's from InfoWars, a credibility check is in order.

Lt. John Hotz of the Missouri State Highway Patrol said the report was compiled by the Missouri Information Analysis Center based in Jefferson City and comes purely from publically available, trend data on militias.

Credible.

Still Waiting...

Previously mentioned here: The Long Wait.

Back in 2007 I wrote about 2 bills held up in the NC legislature. Well, the time is here for the bills to be reintroduced.

In addition to the legislation mentioned last week, NRA is working with State Representative Mark Hilton (R-96) and State Senator Andrew Brock (R-34) to introduce “Castle Doctrine” self-defense bills, which will seek to allow law-abiding citizens to use the force they deem necessary against a violent criminal attacker to protect themselves wherever they have a legal right to be. The bill also provides civil immunity for those who defend themselves from criminal attack.

HB310, stalled in 2007, has been reintroduced as HB257
HB257

House Bill 257, introduced by pro-gun State Representatives George Cleveland, Mark Hilton, Tim Moore (R-111), and Laura Wiley (R-61), would prohibit any government entity from seizing lawfully possessed firearms, ammunition, or ammunition components during a declared state of emergency such as occurred following Hurricane Katrina.

HB270

Senate Bill 235, introduced by pro-gun State Senator Andrew Brock (R-34) and House Bill 270, introduced by pro-gun State Representatives Mark Hilton (R-96), Fred Steen (R-76), Justin Burr (R-67), and George Cleveland (R-14), would eliminate the prohibition on Right-to-Carry permit holders carrying their lawfully concealed firearms into a restaurant that serves alcohol.

It Begins.

As President Obama indicated during the campaign, there are just a few gun-related changes that we would like to make, and among them would be to reinstitute the ban on the sale of assault weapons. ... I think closing the gun show loophole, the banning of cop-killer bullets and I also think that making the assault weapons ban permanent, would be something that would be permitted under Heller.

ABC News: Obama to Seek New Assault Weapons Ban.

Yes, the Attorney General said to ban "cop-killer bullets." What are these "cop-killer" bullets? Previously this term was used for the expanding hollowpoint bullets "Winchester Black Talon." The term has also been applied to armor-piercing ammunition, specifically steel-core ammunition, as well as teflon-coated bullets.

I want to know what other changes are among the "few gun-related changes" the Administration has in store. ObamaNation, indeed.

"No matter what we choose to believe, let us remember that there is no religion whose central tenant is hate ... There is no God who condones taking the life of an innocent human being. This much we know."
-Barack Obama, professed Christian, supporter of abortion. Entertains the belief that Islam is not violent.
